Keep Safe and Plan for the Season!

Here are some Key Points:

1. FOOD AND WATER SUPPLIES – HAVE AT LEAST 7 DAYS OF WATER AND NON-PERISHABLE FOOD SUPPLIES.

2. HAVE BATTERIES, BLANKETS, A “TO GO” BAG AND OTHER ESSENTIALS.

3. HAVE YOU GOT AN EVACUATION PLAN FOR YOUR FAMILY AND LOVED ONES?

4. DO YOU HAVE ANY FAMILY MEMBERS OR SENIORS THAT NEED SPECIAL CARE, THEB BE SURE TO REVIEW YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT WEBSITE FOR AN UP TO DATE LIST OF SPECIAL NEEDS SHELTERS. THE COUNTY WEBSITE WILL ALSO HAVE GREAT RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO YOU THAT YOU CAN DOWNLOAD OR JOIN UP TO.  SIMPLY TYPE YOUR COUNTY NAME, AND EMERGENCY MANAGMENT IN YOUR SEARCH ENGINE. FOR EXAMPLE “HERNANDO COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ”

5. DON’T FORGET YOUR PETS – HAVE YOU GOT ENOUGH FOOD? WHERE WILL THEY GO IF YOU EVACUATE 🤔

6. MEDICATIONS – HAVE YOU GOT ENOUGH? CHECK YOUR PRESCRIPTION AND REFILL STATUS

7. GENERATOR FUEL – DO YOU HAVE ENOUGH PROPANE OR GASOLINE FOR YOUR GENERATOR. MAME SURE YOU USE YOUR GENERATOR SAFELY.
